Close Distance is a special programme to support musicians and makers during the coronavirus crisis. While regular concerts could only take place to a limited extent, this initiative created space for new compositions and alternative forms of presentation.

Four leading musicians – Reinier Baas (guitar), Tony Roe (piano and electronics), David Kweksilber (saxophone and clarinet) and Guy Salamon (drums) – were given the opportunity to create new work and to explore how music could be shared with audiences under these circumstances. Their projects ranged from intimate live performances to hybrid and digital formats.
