Manifesta is a nomadic biennial for contemporary art that takes place every two years in a different European city. In 2020, its thirteenth edition was held in Marseille, a city that, as a historic port and crossroads of cultures, represents an emblematic location within the Mediterranean and Europe.
The biennial was structured around three interlinked programmes: the central exhibition Traits d’union.s, the education and mediation programme Le Tiers Programme, and Les Parallèles du Sud, an extensive network of more than eighty projects across the region. Together, these programmes provided a space to explore global social, political and economic developments, always in dialogue with the diverse communities of Marseille itself.
Within the framework of the project Marseille is Always Many, Ammodo supported new work by the following artists:
Samia Henni
Tuan Andrew Nguyen
Yalda Afsah
Het collectief Black Quantum Futurism
Yassine Balbzioui
Benjamin Burca & Barbara Wagner
Ymane Fakhir
