The interdisciplinary theatre maker Nicole Beutler is working on a trilogy titled RITUALS OF TRANSFORMATION, exploring the climate crisis and a world in transition. In her work, Beutler reflects on the future of humanity and the planet, operating at the intersection of theatre, dance, and visual art.
Following the premieres of GINKGO (2022) and ATMEN (2023), the final part is now being presented: NOW WE ARE EARTH (2025). This eco-futuristic total artwork brings together music, dance, and choir, with eight dancers/singers and a city choir of 45 participants. Inspired by the connections of mycelium threads, the performance celebrates the interconnection between the five realms: animal, human, plant, fungi, and technology. Through her trilogy, Beutler offers new perspectives, moving beyond the fear of change, creating space for healing, and providing a hopeful vision for the future of humanity on the planet.
