CBK Zuidoost presents The Third Dimension, an overview exhibition of Patricia Kaersenhout’s work from 2010 to the present. At its heart is her new film Le retour des femmes colibris, an homage to five influential yet often overlooked women: Josephine Baker, Suzanne Césaire, Frida Kahlo, and sisters Paulette and Jeanne Nardal. Through their stories, Kaersenhout sheds light on the structural erasure of Black women from Western historiography.

Alongside the film, the exhibition features a selection of around sixty works from eleven different series, forming a powerful visual and thematic whole. Together, they offer a poignant reflection on resilience, visibility, and the rewriting of history.
