Youth is Anne Imhof’s first solo exhibition in the Netherlands. Often described as the artistic voice of a young generation, Imhof transforms the museum’s 1,100-square-metre basement gallery into a labyrinthine gesamtkunstwerk. Combining art, architecture, light, and a specially composed soundtrack, she creates a disorienting, claustrophobic environment in which visitors are fully immersed. For Youth, Imhof has also produced a new video work, filmed in the desolate, snow-covered outskirts of Moscow, which is presented for the first time as an integral part of the installation.
