In Minor Keys - Performance Programme
Biënnale Venetië

The 61st edition of the Venice Biennale was curated by Koyo Kouoh under the title In Minor Keys. The Biennale Arte presents a performance program featuring work by eleven internationally leading artists (duos) who developed new work for the biennale: Laurie Anderson; Maria Magdalena Campos-Pons & Kamaal Malak; Big Chief Demond Melancon; Guadalupe Maravilla; BuBu de la Madeleine & Yoshiko Shimada; Tammy Nguyen; Hagar Ophir; Yo-E Ryou; Clarissa Herbst & Dominique Rust; Himali Singh Soin & David Soin Tappeser; and Victoria Udondian. Many of the projects have a permanent presence within the exhibition in the form of installations that also serve as stages for the performances. A recurring motif within the programme is that of the procession or gathering, in which it is explored how art forms can organize social encounters.
