With documentary music theatre, Mathieu Wijdeven explores the Western operatic genre within a Surinamese context filled with spirits, gods, and myths. Through moving arias and a musical reconstruction, the performance reveals what this Surinamese opera can mean for us today. Wijdeven serves as the narrator and, together with opera singer Frank Dolphin Wong and pianist Djuwa Mroivili, brings the story to life.
