The Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra presents a spectacular performance in the newly renovated Gashouder. South African cellist, singer and storyteller Abel Selaocoe takes audiences on a journey through his cultural roots. In his cello concerto Four Spirits, he virtuosoically combines solo performance with improvisation, singing, storytelling and body percussion. Conductor Gemma New then leads the orchestra in Stravinsky’s Le Sacre du printemps, an enduring masterpiece that bridges ancient folk traditions and groundbreaking modern musical language.
