The International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA) is the largest and most influential documentary film festival in the world, held annually in November in Amsterdam. IDFA promotes the production and distribution of a wide range of documentary films while also developing a growing audience of both enthusiasts and professionals. The festival aims to base its film selection on both artistic quality and societal relevance.

In addition to the film programme, the festival includes a contextual programme featuring discussions, masterclasses, lectures, and publications.
