Theater Utrecht is a BIS-company based in the city of Utrecht. The company aims to create bold and polyphonic theatre that challenges audiences to reflect. Under the artistic direction of Anne Breure, Theater Utrecht chooses to work with a team of six artists, each with their own distinctive signature, during the 2025–2028 period: Casper Vandeputte, Floor Houwink ten Cate, Naomi Velissariou, Cherish Menzo, Jaha Koo, and Carolina Bianchi.
Recently, Theater Utrecht relocated to a new venue: Het Huis Utrecht. This building includes a theatre hall, rehearsal spaces, offices, and a bar, and also provides room for workshops and talent development. The fact that a BIS institution functions both as a city company with a local role and as an internationally oriented production house with a core team of leading makers is unique in the Netherlands.
