Tomoko Mukaiyama (Wakayama, 1963) is a Dutch-Japanese pianist, performer, and visual artist based in Amsterdam. As a multidisciplinary artist, Mukaiyama creates contemporary art projects that push the boundaries of the classical music world by integrating disciplines such as modern dance, fashion, photography, and visual art into her performances. She collaborates with film directors, designers, architects, dancers, and photographers. Past collaborators have included Ian Kerkhof, Marina Abramović, Masami Akita, Michael Gordon, and Jiří Kylián. Composers such as Martijn Padding, Peter-Jan Wagemans, and Louis Andriessen have also written pieces for her.
